This is one of my favorite series of historical mysteries. This is the third in the series and centers around the ritualized death of the judge in the high-profile trial of an anarchist. As such the story illuminates the workings of the anarchist movement in New York at the turn of the 20th century. Consistent in quality with the first two in the series.
