Pirate Latitudes has no real plot or even heavy characterization. Despite this it was a quick and fun read. The book follows the smart, dastardly, but charming Captain Charles Hunter on a legendary caper against the Spanish in the mid-17th century Caribbean. He and his crew overcome obstacle after obstacle to reach their aim using cunning and daring. Has a satisfying but somewhat surprising ending. And while the characters aren’t developed too deeply, they are still delicious.
